Office 2007

Once you are upgraded to Office 2007, you will begin using Outlook as your email client. All of your messages and contacts will be transferred over when we install the upgrade on your computer. You will most likely want to make use of the calendar in Outlook that allows you to keep track of appointments and tasks and set reminders.

In Word 2007, the first thing you will notice is that it's "kinda funny lookin'".

The circle in the upper left-hand corner contains the items you are used to seeing under "File" (Open, Save, Print, etc). The small rectangle just to the right on the very top of the screen is the Quick Access Toolbar. If you click on the down arrow next to it, you can add one-click items such as Print. Other commands can be added here that don't appear on the list, so let me know if there's something I can add for you.

The wide rectangle is what's called the Ribbon. These are groups of options that change as you click Menu items across the top (Home, Insert, Page Layout, etc.). Additional commands can be found by clicking on the diagonal arrow to the bottom right of each of these groups.

Excel 2007 has the same Ribbon scheme as Word. Additional commands can be easily found by right-clicking your mouse on a cell or by right-clicking your mouse on a worksheet tab.

Finding Help is a little bit like a "Where's Waldo?" hunt, but *SPOILER ALERT* it's located under the "X" in the upper right hand corner -- the blue circle with a question mark inside.

If you can't find what you're looking for with Help, just let me know. I'd be happy to help with any customizations that will make your life easier!
